Admission to the Conservatory
For admission to the Conservatory you will have to follow three steps:
- Register on Esse3
You will have to enter your personal data (if you are a minor, also your parents’) and any data on the diploma/degree obtained. - Register for the Admission Competition on Esse3 (by 31 May)
You will have to choose which course you want to take the admission test for and pay the admission fees (36.04 euros) - Participate in the admission test (scheduled for July)

How to do it?
The registration procedure for the Admission Competitions is online and will take you 10-20 minutes.
Before you begin, prepare these documents on your computer/tablet/smartphone:
- Your ID card (or other valid document) in pdf, jpeg or png format;
- A copy of your high school diploma and/or degree (if you have obtained them) in pdf, jpeg or png format;
- An artistic and musical studies curriculum that will be evaluated at admission.
The online procedure
- Register on Esse3 (the portal for students of the Toscanini Conservatory)
→ Watch this video or follow these steps:- Click on the menu at the top right and click on Registration;
- Follow the steps and enter your ID;
- When you’re done, you’ll get your username and a password
Keep them carefully: you will need them for your career at the Conservatory (booklet, exams, electronic register, fees…) - Log in to Esse3: click on the menu and then on Login (remember to choose Conservatorio di Musica di Stato Arturo Toscanini)
- Register for the Competition for Admission on Esse3 (by 31 May)

The syllabus of the entrance exams are available on the Conservatory website, click on the Teaching menu then click on Courses. - Click on the menu at the top right and click on Secretariat, then on Admission Test;
- Follow the steps and fill in the required documents;
If you have not yet obtained your Diploma, you will still have to enter the data of the school you attend and on the date of achievement indicate 2026; - Pay taxes in this way:
- click on the invoice number of 30.00 euros (Admission fee);
Pay the PagoPa online or Print Notice slip and pay at a tobacconist or at the post office. - Fill out a form to pay the €6.04 registration tax at a tobacconist or at the post office:
postal account no. 1016 in the name of “Agenzia delle Entrate – Centro Operativo di Pescara” specifying the reason for payment “ADMISSION AA 2026/2027 Conservatorio Toscanini di Ribera”; Send a copy of your payment to segreteria@istitutotoscanini.it.
- click on the invoice number of 30.00 euros (Admission fee);
- Participate in the admission test (scheduled for July)

The Arturo Toscanini State Conservatory of Music in Ribera offers a complete course aimed at music students:
- the Frep courses (first level pre-academic) for those starting to study music;
- the Preparatory courses, preparatory for advanced training courses;
- first and second level academic courses, equivalent to three-year and two-year degrees, to become professional musicians

Costs, fees and contributions
To attend the courses of the Conservatory you pay fees and contributions that vary according to the level and which include different items.

Concessions, benefits and scholarships
For students of the Toscanini Conservatory of Ribera there are some concessions, benefits and scholarships:
- Reduction of fees for 1st and 2nd level AFAM courses, based on the ISEE and on the basis of the credits obtained.
- For students recommended by affiliated music schools:
- no entrance exam;
- exemption from contributions for the first year of orientation at Frep level.
- Ersu-Palermo Scholarships (Institution for the Right to University Education)
- Scholarships and collaboration grants activated by the Conservatory and public and private partners.
Foreign students
The procedure for applying for a new study visa is managed through the Universitaly portal. Non-EU citizens residing abroad, admitted to our degree courses, must create their account on Universitaly and submit the visa application.
The Conservatory will confirm the visa application to the Italian Diplomatic Representation through the Universitaly platform only if the entrance exam has been passed and, consequently, the right to enrolment in the chosen course has been acquired.
The completion of the visa application on the Universitaly portal for the A.Y. 2026/2027 must be done as soon as possible and, in any case, by 31 August 2026.
